Curtailment
Turning available generation down because the grid cannot take the power, or because it is cheaper to waste it than to use it.
Curtailment is electricity that could have been generated and was not. A line may be full, demand may be low, or the price may be negative. Storage, interconnectors and flexible demand are the usual ways to reduce it.
